How Richard did it…
Sectioning:
“After applying K-PAK Luster Lock Multi-Perfector Daily Shine & Protect Spray, I sectioned off the fringe, the top halo, and the back into a zigzag section. I began cutting the back by taking diagonal back sections and point-cut the length and layers.”
“Shrinkage” check:
“Once both sides were complete, I checked for balance and began cutting the perimeter to the desired length. Keep in mind curly hair will jump once dry.”
Layering:
“Next up was layering the fringe to create softness and suitability.”
Point Cutting:
“After clipping all the hair below the halo, I began cutting the crown section layers by pulling everything back towards me at 45 degree elevation. I then point-cut the layers square to desired length.”
Balance:
“Once I completed both sides, I checked for balance and twist-cut this section to reduce weight and promote the curl. This will visually blend the slight disconnection throughout the back.”
Graduation:
“I then worked the top section from short to long. This allows for the layers to connect to the crown, and adds more length towards the front to compliment the overall shape.”
The Product:
“I wet the hair down with water and applied our new Curl Confidence Defining Crème throughout the hair. It’s important to use this product on damp hair and scrunch it in with your hands to promote the natural existing curl.”
Diffusing:
“Once the hair was completely dry with my diffuser, I scrunched the hair with my hands to soften the curl, and then separated it with cool air and my fingers.
The final touch:
“A quick spray of Defy Damage Invincible added shine and a light hold.”
